In comes OYO rooms to the rescue. OYO whom? OYO is India's largest branded network of hotels that aims to provide comfortable and affordable stays with standardized features such as good air- conditioning, hygienic washrooms, complimentary breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi and 24 hour customer service support. All OYO hotels have an operations manager present to help facilitate your easy check in and check out using their own hotel platform.

When hotel owners apply to be a partner of OYO, they have to strictly follow a 150-point checklist that outlines standards of service, aesthetics and amenities. The properties are periodically audited by OYO's team of on-ground operation managers to ensure compliance to OYO's service standards.

OYO Customer Service Representatives also make post-sales contact with OYO room guests to obtain detailed feedback on their experience staying in OYO properties.

Look at the Before and After photos. OYO Rooms totally rock it!

Here are some rooms we checked out at Star Points Hotel above Haniffa Supermarket in Kuala Lumpur.

So are you excited about booking your OYO rooms now? The mobile app is available in the Google Play Store for most Android phones and iOS and really easy to install. Oh and I forgot to mention that room prices start from RM49! Yes! And with the mobile app you can save even more!

As of June 2016, OYO has presence in 180+ cities and 70,000+ rooms in India and Malaysia so that's a lot of rooms to choose from!

Ok ok so back to the mobile app. Once you've downloaded the mobile app, just shake your phone a little and the app will automatically show you the OYO rooms nearest to you.

How cool is that? It's a great feature for travellers who somehow have not booked their rooms before arriving in a city.

And how do you recognize an OYO property? They've installed bright red signs that light up at night to help you spot the hotels from a distance so you don't need to use your binoculars.

Below are some snapshots of the mobile app which you can get HERE

And a snapshot of the website which you can visit HERE

As you can see, you can filter your search by location, price, facitilites, collections eg for Couples, Room Type (they have Budget AND Premium rooms) and accommodation type (besides hotels, they also partner with home sharing platforms).

Still want more info? Check out OYO's Facebook page Here or www.instagram.com/oyo.Malaysia

Lastly, when you download the mobile app, you'll get 20% OFF (capped at RM40) when you use promo code: MYBUD212

Happy OYO-ing!

    1. A bit different though. Airbnb depends solely on the owner to keep the place presentable. OYO reps are stationed at OYO affiliated hotels to make sure that the check-in, check-out and quality of rooms are of the best standard
