Travel Photography Asia (TPA) is a festival that celebrates travel photography. This festival started in 2015 and this year, the panel of internationally acclaimed jury members received 3445 breathtaking entries from approximately 90 different nationalities.
For travel photographers, the world has no boundaries and they bring to you the raw, untouched, richly coloured, unseen and forgotten alleys, neighbourhoods, faces, customs and traditions.
The opening night saw Y.Bhg. Dato' Haji Azizan Noordin, Deputy Director General Tourism Malaysia officiating the event.
As I walked about the event space and admired the 50 photos on display at the White Box, Publika, Kuala Lumpur, I can't help but notice that the photos taken by these talented photographers are scenes from the ordinary daily life made extra special with their photography skills. Doorways, fishing scenes, wiring jobs, people worshiping or gathering wood. Ordinary stories made extraordinary. That's what photography is all about.
The Travel Photography Asia exhibition will be held at White Box, Publika Kuala Lumpur from 27-29 May 2016, . Entrance is free.
