Since Imperial Chakri Palace first opened its doors in 6th April 1999, they have been providing the best experience of authentic fine Thai cuisine in KL with their highly skilled Thai chefs who are personally hand-picked from Thailand.
I simply love Thai food so when I was invited to experience their Ramadhan Buffet, I couldn't say no! Plus they proudly declare that they don't add MSG their food.
It's important to note that The Ramadhan buffet offered by Chakri Palace is not authentically Thai and has a mix of of Malay/Nyonya/Indian cuisine offered. Dishes offered are also different on different days.

Chakri Palace is decorated with clean and cream furniture, giving it a touch of elegance in line with its name.
As you can imagine they had a wide array of food to choose from. I decided to start with the appetisers comprising of Mee Krob- Thai Crispy Fried Noodle, Angle Bean salad, and Glass Noodles with Seafood Salad.
Betel Leaves with garlic, onions, lime and nuts |
Then I checked out the main dishes and thought that I'd better not stuff myself with too much rice and noodles so I have space to try everything on the menu. I was however, unsuccessful.
Stir Fried Mee Hoon. (I loved the generous portion of bean sprouts) |
Nasi Briyani is not so much a Thai Dish |
Stir fried beancurd with Thai basil leaves and chilli |
Chicken kapitan |
Prawns with Butter Sauce (This was one of my favourites) |
Massaman beef |
Stir Fried Chicken with Sweet & Sour Sauce |
Mixed vegetables |
Steamed fish with Lime and Chilli (another favourite) |
I managed to try the above plus the must have tomyam but not the satay, ikan bakar and Thai Laksa. I had to save space for desserts!
Satay, Ikan Bakar, Nasi Impit with Peanut Sauce |
The desserts offered are plentiful but I only managed to squeeze in my favourite mango sticky rice, Red Ruby and the red kuih with brown sugar filling.
