My Top 14 Favourite Looks from the #METGala

My timeline has been flooded with posts about what celebrities wore at the recent “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” themed MET Gala. One noteworthy trend on the red carpet was that goth makeup is back (hmmm) and not everyone can carry off the futuristic theme.

I almost didn't want to find out what the rest were wearing when I saw Beyonce in a squid-like textured dress (what was she thinking?) and then found that other celebrities were trying to out-do her in the cringe-worthy segment. It was almost to easy to spot the classier looks (or fashionistas will scream "boring" looks).

My Top 14 Favourites
Blake Lively brings her bump to the carpet in a pink silk Burberry gown featuring a long train embellished with red flowers, plus major Lorraine Schwartz coral-and-diamond danglers.

Naomi Watts chooses a mirrored Burberry gown embellished with poppies, then tops it all off with even more bling courtesy of Fred Leighton. The dress looks heavy but she somehow carries it off
Claire Danes makes a major entrance in her  Cinderella like glow in the dark Zac Posen ballgown with its structural bodice, plus Eva Fehren jewelry.

Emma Watson wears a pants/skirt ensemble in a portrait-neckline black-and-white bustier and draped train by Calvin Klein Collection, plus PHYNE by Paige Novick and Walters Faith jewelry. The body of the gown was made using three fabrics, all woven out of yarns made from recycled plastic bottles
Amber Heard goes for Old Hollywood glamour (not on theme, but still pretty!) in a silk charmeuse Ralph Lauren Collection gown, golden Jimmy Choo accessories, Anita Ko necklaces and big loose waves.
Uma Thurman in a backless white Tommy Hilfiger gown with one silver shoulder, plus Cartier jewels, feathered white heels and a glittering clutch (both Jimmy Choo).
Karolina Kurkova wears a romantic dove-gray high-low Marchesa gown with floral appliqués studded with LED lights, plus Graziela Gems jewelry and gunmetal heels.
Joan Smalls wears a carefully constructed silver high-neck Balmain gown with Giuseppe Zanotti Design heels.
Hannah Davis chooses a seafoam beaded Zuhair Murad Couture gown with a structured slit skirt and metallic belt, plus shoulder-dusting earrings and a Jeffrey Levinson clutch.
Nina Dobrev in a bird-print Marchesa cap-sleeve tulle gown with cutout back.
Taylor Hill in a custom Topshop halter gown with Christian Louboutin heels, a Jimmy Choo clutch and Coomi jewelry.
Bee Shaffer in a floral Alexander McQueen gown with a square neckline and dramatic train
Allison Williams glides by in a custom one-shoulder Peter Pilotto gown with a full skirt and side cutout, adorned with flowers

Emma Stone selects a white Prada gown with a gunmetal leather harness and perfectly-matched shadow, plus Christian Louboutin heels and mismatched Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. (I'm not too sure about the corset though)
