I rarely wear a jubah unless it's for a wedding or for Raya as I'm more of a pants and blouse person. When I received an invitation to attend the Rina Salleh Clothing's Raya Collection Preview, I was intrigued when it mentioned that the Raya collection was inspired by Audrey Hepburn- a fashion icon I admire.
The collection is mostly made of soft lines, earthy hues with sweet pink accents. As the designs are minimalist, it makes it easy for the wearer to wear them to any occasion.
The Raya Collection consists of 5 lines- the Rhianna dress, the Rubi dress, the Hawa suit, the Roselyn dress and the Scarlett dress.
The Rubi dress cut from soft crepe has minimal camo and damask prints on the front and at the cuffs.
The Rhianna dress is an updated A-line silhoutte with classic majolica china porcelain print
The Scarlett Dress has fun geometric and floral prints lending the line an element of fun
The Hawa suit is the simplest design from the whole collection. It is made of earth coloured fabrics without any prints
The Roselyn Dress comprises of two main panels on the bodice with contrasting colours
The show, I must say, was nicely organized with usherettes and refreshments. The only set back was the choice of emcee who I found crude and unprofessional unlike the collection which was sophisticated and elegant. But that's just me.
