Travel Photography Asia 2016 #tpa2016 #photography #visitmalaysia #kualalumpurevents

Travel Photography Asia (TPA) is a festival that celebrates travel photography. This festival started in 2015 and this year, the panel of internationally acclaimed jury members received 3445 breathtaking entries from approximately 90 different nationalities.

For travel photographers, the world has no boundaries and they bring to you the raw, untouched, richly coloured, unseen and forgotten alleys, neighbourhoods, faces, customs and traditions.

The opening night saw Y.Bhg. Dato' Haji Azizan Noordin, Deputy Director General Tourism Malaysia officiating the event.

As I walked about the event space and admired the 50 photos on display at the White Box, Publika, Kuala Lumpur, I can't help but notice that the photos taken by these talented photographers are scenes from the ordinary daily life made extra special with their photography skills. Doorways, fishing scenes, wiring jobs, people worshiping or gathering wood. Ordinary stories made extraordinary. That's what photography i…

Beat of La Donna by #RinaSallehClothing #raya #fashion

I rarely wear a jubah unless it's for a wedding or for Raya as I'm more of a pants and blouse person. When I received an invitation to attend the Rina Salleh Clothing's Raya Collection Preview, I was intrigued when it mentioned that the Raya collection was inspired by Audrey Hepburn- a fashion icon I admire.

The collection is mostly made of soft lines, earthy hues with sweet pink accents. As the designs are minimalist, it makes it easy for the wearer to wear them to any occasion.

The Raya Collection consists of 5 lines- the Rhianna dress, the Rubi dress, the Hawa suit, the Roselyn dress and the Scarlett dress.

The Rubi dress cut from soft crepe has minimal camo and damask prints on the front and at the cuffs.

The Rhianna dress is an updated A-line silhoutte with classic majolica china porcelain print
The Scarlett Dress has fun geometric and floral prints lending the line an element of fun
The Hawa suit is the simplest design from the whole collection. It is made of earth …

Ramadan Buffet Caprilicious at Capri by Fraser Kuala Lumpur #ramadan #capri #kualalumpur

In a city full of food choices it is easy enough to find cuisine from Italy, Spain, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

Finding good kampung Malay food in a restaurant is tougher, though. Locals prefer to dine by the road side gerai or in a warung in the suburbs or residential areas. However, if you prefer to dine in comfort with air-conditioning and pipe in music, hotel restaurants and mid-range restaurant/cafes might be a better option.

With Ramadan around the corner, Caprilicious at Capri by Fraser Kuala Lumpur invited a few bloggers to their Ramadan Buffet Preview. Their chosen theme this year is the Warisan Desa which aims to serve the taste and flavour of authentic Malaysian food from all the states.

Warisan Desa will be showcasing the live action stations preparing Kambing Panggang (roasted lamb) and a local favourite- Satay (meat skewer). With over 70 dishes served daily, you will surely have to pick and choose what you think your stomach can digest after a whole day of fasting…

Ramadhan Buffet 2016 at Chakri Palace

Since Imperial Chakri Palace first opened its doors in 6th April 1999, they have been providing the best experience of authentic fine Thai cuisine in KL with their highly skilled Thai chefs who are personally hand-picked from Thailand.

I simply love Thai food so when I was invited to experience their Ramadhan Buffet, I couldn't say no! Plus they proudly declare that they don't add MSG their food.

It's important to note that The Ramadhan buffet offered by Chakri Palace is not authentically Thai and has a mix of of Malay/Nyonya/Indian cuisine offered. Dishes offered are also different on different days.
Chakri Palace is decorated with clean and cream furniture, giving it a touch of elegance in line with its name.

As you can imagine they had a wide array of food to choose from. I decided to start with the appetisers comprising of Mee Krob- Thai Crispy Fried Noodle, Angle Bean salad, and Glass Noodles with Seafood Salad.
Then I checked out the main dishes and thought that I…
