Ipoh is my dad's hometown and we would go back every Chinese New Year when I was younger, in the wee hours of the morning to avoid the CNY jams.

Recently, I was part of a team building organizing team which involved using tablets to hunt for clues and go through challenges in Ipoh.
Ipoh might be a sleepy town to some of you (and it's kind of the appeal of the place) but for heritage junkies like me, it was an absolute delight to be able to walk around the Ipoh Heritage Trail (while working ahem). I went there for Ipoh White Coffee just after getting married with hubby a few years ago and didn't realize there were so many things to see. (Perhaps I only had eyes for him, at the time!)
Here are some photos taken during my recent trip. I didn't get to try the famous Nasi Ganja as we were too busy working!

Ya I always passed by Ipoh but never knew got such heritage lane with so many artsy things to snap n see. The hotel looks good too, sure missing Ipoh food now.

Deleteyou should come and visit my hometown bentong, pahang.it looks similar to ipoh.there's a large chinese community there too.i love ipoh too.back when we were small, we always go and eat cendol at the old ktm station.i dont think its still there now..

DeleteI am from Taiping and always pass by Ipoh like countless time by now. When I said pass by mean literally pass by at highway...kekekeke,,,Thank you for introducing me to whats in Ipoh. Next time will not just pass by...I wanna visit Ipoh.:)

DeleteI went to Ipoh for a short escape a few months ago. The Heritage Trail was part of my itinarary but unfortunately it rained. I sure regret it now!

DeleteI studied in Tronoh for about 5 years, and Ipoh was like a second home to me. Such a beautiful place with so much heritage and culture, and not forgetting, GOOD FOOD! Yay!

ReplyDeleteGo when you can. Good food, nice places to see, cool cafes popping up! (jams come along with development so just avoid the usual rush hours)
