Art lovers, you have to visit the Art Expo Malaysia 2014 held at Matrade! The Expo started today and will end on Sunday. Entrance is free.
I arrived there just past noon and was immediately greeted by gorgeous artwork from 30 countries, well not at once but over 4 hours.
I have taken some photo of my favourite pieces (which is a lot!) and will label them below once I get all the business cards and artist profiles sorted out.

Chinese Artist |
Funnily, I've dreamed the scene below before (sea life in the sky) and Ernesto Morales had the same dream but he as an artist, of course managed to paint it

Nebulosas 2 by Ernesto Morales |
Gorgeous photography by Giuseppi Nora. I like her reflections collection:
The art piece below by Ramon Piaguaje is a self-taught artist, is the son of a the Chief of the Secoya Indigenous people of Equador. His paintings are so detailed you feel that you are looking at a photograph. He mostly known as "the painter of the jungle".
Interestingly, there is a booth in the Chinese Pavilion area where artworks of from the Society of Persons with Learning Disabilities Selangor & Kuala Lumpur are showcased. For more information about these artists, please visit

Have you seen an artist paint a blank canvas in 12 minutes? Watch the video below as I captured him in action at the Art Expo.

These are really great art works. It would be nice to see the art expo.
ReplyDeleteYup, it was held for such a short time - just four days- but I'm glad I noticed a bunting near my home
DeleteI always wanna go to that kid of place!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Glad I had a bit of time
DeleteI'm not much of an art person, but I appreciate these expressions of creativity. I also like exploring different work of artists from other countries.
ReplyDeleteArt is universal :)
DeleteIt's so liberating to see good art.. I am sure you had a great experience at the EXPO
ReplyDeleteI did! It's really inspiring!
DeleteLots of beautiful paintings to choose from different painters. Of course, the creativeness of these artists are awesome.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how they come up with such beauty
DeleteThis looks so interesting! I would love to be able to go myself!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, one day, you will!
DeleteThere are some really lovely pieces here! What a nice way to spend the afternoon, just wandering through beautiful works of art..
ReplyDeleteIt was one of my best moments this year :)
DeleteIn this time and age we live in, where everything is done electronically and very fast, it is nice to see the work of art and creativity people still have and dedicate their time to.
ReplyDeleteSo true! It's great to just step back for awhile and take in the beauty and appreciate their efforts
DeleteThanks for the pictures! This is the next best thing to being able to go check out the exhibition myself!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them, Sarah!
DeleteMy favorite is artheline, it's just so colorful! I'm glad there are still a lot of people interested in art these days
ReplyDeleteThey're adorable! The artists love their art to be colourful and round :)
DeleteNice pieces of artwork. Wish they can have similar exhibit in our country.
ReplyDeleteSurely there are? Phillipines has great performing arts, though!
DeleteI like the art pieces! If only your images can be full size instead of thumbnails, as it takes time to open and load the bigger images! My favourite of your favourite is the picture of the two girls? done by the Chinese artist. The lightly coloured painting give the soft and soothing feel~
ReplyDeleteReally? They are full-sized though ;p Yep, not easy to control the lightness of the paint yet give it enough definition
Deletewow 12 minutes o.o quite interested to watch it. i love art and would like to visit an art expo
ReplyDeleteThe video is cool!
DeleteThose Jesus Curia sculptures look so good. From what country does this artist hail from? - Fred
ReplyDeleteHe is from Madrid, Spain. His artworks can be seen here http://www.jesuscuria.com/
DeleteGreat art. I believed the artist pay a lot of effort to make this expo live!
ReplyDeleteThe artists might not have to pay too much as the main sponsor is Ambank Group backed by The Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture among other sponsors. It's really a gateway to bring in international visitors to appreciate the art that global artists have to offer. Insurance, security and logistics of their art pieces will, however, cost a bomb!
DeleteSo artistic! I love all the art works posted up! Nice!
ReplyDeleteI've rarely been into art expo posts, and it's such a good thing that when I do spot on them, the artworks never failed to amaze me. This one's very classy at all.
ReplyDeleteWandering in a picture gallery is always a great experience, every picture say something from you
ReplyDeleteI love Calvin Chua art for being so colorful and expressive. Anyways, the other works of art shown here are masterpieces themselves, a great exhibition indeed!
ReplyDeleteVery unique and creative. Lovely paintings.
ReplyDeleteI love going to art expos becasue you get to meet new an upcoming artists... The prices are fair and the range of art, magnificent.
